If you’ve read any of my previous beauty posts, you’ll know that I aim for hassle-free daily makeup with as little room for error as possible. The last thing I want to be worrying about at 7 am before work is adjusting the one wonky cat-eye or washing off any extra blush. Most makeup brands have many different simple products for every day wear, but rarely do they create an entire look for you so that you can literally run out the door when you’ve slept in for too long. This is what attracted me to Charlotte Tilbury’s Instant Look In A Palette that came out a few months ago. Seeing as this was my first “luxury brand” purchase, I wanted to ensure that it would adjust to my style and daily life effortlessly, so I did a few days of research about the product and decided that it would be worth the splurge.
After having used it for a few months now I can honestly say that I really like it—so much so that I find myself reaching for it almost every day that I wear makeup. It may sound like I am sucking up to one of the most popular brands on the market now, but I Charlotte Tilbury seems to pride herself in being able to develop makeup for women on the go, or women who have other things to do, but still want to look put-together doing it. It seems like every product in the palette is usable; even though I don’t use contour, the colour can easily be used as an eye shadow, which is something I tend to gravitate to more.
With this palette you are not being forced to step outside your comfort zone and put a look together that emphasizes you are wearing makeup, but rather gives the steps (literally) on how to accentuate your features without going over the top. When ordering this online I didn’t have to worry about the colours matching my skin tone because they were all made to suit a variety of faces without making everyone look the same. Even though I am not the biggest makeup wearer, I would recommend this palette to anyone who likes the idea of a ‘5 minute face’ as much as I do, or perhaps someone who doesn’t want to buy a bunch of different products for one look. The packaging is big enough so that it gives you a fair amount of product for the money that you spend, but is still compact enough to store away easily on your dresser or in a smaller bag to touch up throughout the day (even though you probably won’t need to). All in all, this palette has converted me to Charlotte Tilbury’s brand and I will be purchasing a few more of her products (preferably her lipsticks) in the months to come.
