Much to my dismay, the weather has yet to change into that warm wetness so often associated with spring and so, getting dressed every day still remains a bit of a challenge. I’m beginning to get bored with my usual “uniform”, but working in a casual office environments allows me to wear what I feel comfortable in and what is suited to the very bipolar weather this time of year. My most common pairings are a pair of black pants (sometimes even stretchy ones without buttons) a tank, and a sweater on top for those cold-but-not-super-cold days. It’s gotten to the point now where all my outfits are some sort of sweater and leggings/black jeans combo. No fuss.
Since the weather is so erratic I’ve noticed that my skincare has also had to change a bit and so I’ve opted for a Vichy BB cream instead of my usual powder. It seems to be helping a lot more with those dry weather breakouts and blends naturally with my light to medium skin. Mascara and lips are usually the same, maybe I’ll switch up the colour depending on the outfit, but for something as neutral as this I can dare to wear a pop of pink. Something I have been really enjoying since its purchase is my too faced 16-hour blush. It definitely holds up to its name and now that I’ve figured out how much to dab onto my brush it’s been super easy to wear and maintain.
If you know me you’ll now that big bags are a staple, not because I love to carry my entire life around with me, but because half of my week is usually spent at my boyfriend’s place and that requires some preparation and clean socks. I have also started using up some of that space to carry around a notebook in order to jot down story ideas or as a daily journal if there’s anything on my mind. It has been a great help in keeping me motivated to write.
And finally, my newest and favourite purchase—my pair of Doctor Martens flora boots. I had to pick them up unplanned on a day when the boots I was wearing had a hole in them and left my feet wet from the sudden rainfall and short of trench foot. They are the perfect weatherproof boot and can easily be styled with a dress for more of an edgy look. Now it’s just a matter of keeping them moisturized to avoid any cracking of the leather.
