I’m not typically a huge music aficionado, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love listening to music. I just never know where to begin when looking for a new artist or band to try out. Luckily, ITunes understands the struggle and they will usually offer a list of new albums recently out. Based on the name and the cover art, I’ll give them a click and have a quick listen. Usually, if their most popular song doesn’t catch my attention, I’ll just move on to the next, but occasionally you’ll find something that speaks to you.
That happened to me recently with Glass Animals and their album Zaba. I’m on the 10th listen of the entire album and I still don’t feel like I’ve fully devoured it yet. Zaba, much to its cover’s theme and band’s name, has a very nature-like quality to it with faint animal sounds in the background of songs or at the end of them. I’m starting to get into more psychedelic music and Glass Animals are perfect for this because they incorporate indie music in a new and unique way. Not to mention that pretty much every song is gold and will be in your head constantly, both able to lull you into comfortable ease and also have you dancing.
If there were one new artist you are willing to listen to, I’d recommend you make it this one.
